When you go to a customer house to measure up and there not sure what they want what do you push.
I tend to go spacia or van gogh. But am starting to tell them about LG. Got 2 jobs in it now.
Trying to keep them off knight tile.

I find nearly everyone is the victim of the Karndean marketing machine. I've tried pushing LG instead of Knight Tile a few times but no success yet.

Why do you push Spacia over Knight tile?

I actually mean Knight Tile wood plank. The surface texture shows up every little scratch in no time at all. The tile effect especially the ST range are good though due to having a matt surface.

Is Karndean pu coated now? A fella from a carpet shop told me it was?
I go spacia Matt as good wear layer an looks good down, well most of them.
I know you told me it's not amtico but why does it have there name on it and it's on there website.

Well ye, spacia is not made by Amtico, they buy it from China.

Also dont be fooled by the wear layer thickness. The wear layer is a lot softer than Karndeans so wears much faster.

And yes, Karndean has PU layer now. Its basically to replace the Dim Glow seal they sell. Its already coated.

Me personally i keep away from Spacia as i have had wear issues myself with it. I dont like Knight tile either as i think it looks a Bit dated now and boring.

For me i tend to try and push Van-gough . I dont like fitting the proper Amtico either as its to bloody hard to cut LOL.

What about a 4" type Matt as doing a thin hall an doing a border so they don't want wide planks.

Cut Van-gough planks in half ? :pint

I think your stuck with either Spacia or Karndean.

End of the day, sell your customer what ever product your happy with yourself. I was just wondering why you like one product over the other.

Spacia cause bevelled edges which a lot of folk like too
The hall needs to be small size planks in middle to mate, tried the lg but they didn't like it.
They want a dark red type oak to match stairs. Lots of spacia like that
The sample she likes in the Karndean Colour is autumn oak art select but that to wide.

You used to get some 4" Van Gogh. I supplied and fitted some VG5-4 (there we go again  ) last year. A dealer had it in the bowels of his store and was selling it off cheaper. No idea when it was made.

I think so mate, cause if you cut in it makes in too small so you best doing 2 plank border. Which won't work. Going back there thursday to drop samples off so will take a few pics, it's mad hall shape. I don't like the deep bevel either. But i will see what samples I can get tomorrow.

Not sure, will take samples of it too, like I said the samples they like was that autumn oak so u never know as can get some amtico for £40 odd I think. Because it's to thin hall in a few parts for the bamboo border which she wanted she said she might go for motif. Hope so.
