Have u got a link? Are they electric gas or air. The Clarke one I have was cheap but I want a nailer unless this one is any good.
I have the 606 Tbh i dont really use it much, unless theres bullnoses or the odd domestic ply job (sheet vinyl etc) Couple lads have the 4000, only dif i can make is that the 606 can take brads & staples where the 4000 only does staples. Oh and the 606 staples are silver and the 4000 rusty copper coloured
Was lookin at getting one for ply-fitting even though they are £180.00 there isnt anything cheaper especially for under subbing LVTs.
You planning on a lot of lvt work martin? Its fine for small areas, but gets hot pretty quick imo Not suitable for any large areas, the spring gets weak as it gets hot and doesnt fire the staples hard enough. Thats my experience anyways. If your planning on doing a lot of plying, invest in a nail gun / compressor
I had the 606 for ages but I wouldnt use it for brads, it leaves a mark on the scotia/beading. I used it for an extra fixing in gripper instead of ringshanks too. Managed to lose it last month so I got the 4000 as it was a bit cheaper and I think the staples are easier to hide in the carpet.
4000 is for under bullnoses, seagrass etc. 606 is for plywood. The staples are stronger + wider. As has been said, they over heat if used alot. The new ones now have a time delay built in so you cant fire to many staples per minute. I have 3 of them and use all 3 at the same time, spreads the load out and the heat.
Come on Martin invest in a stapler / compressor iv never look back just done 50 sheets of 6mm ply easy. get down to Barnes. Steve.
I have a Maestri 606 stapler for bullnose's and another Maestri ME30 for brads (only good for mdf or softwood beading IMO), I always use air tools for ply or hardwood beading, have 2 TS3832's and a manual (popeye arm) Spotnailer for small bits and power cut's.
