Most of us who do lvts have been asked to lay over ceramic floor tiles. In most cases with correct prep and the tiles being sound this isn't a problem but here's the question : Would you use the less expensive non flexible screed eg Stopgap 300 when the tiles are laid on a wood floor? For tiles to be sound the floor must be solid or else the tiles or grout would be damaged.
In a word, No i wouldnt Id just price accordingly At the price lvts are, its Not worth the hassle in getting it wrong
id try and talk them into lifting tiles. If they wouldnt budge id prob opt for ardex NA As it is, i havnt had to screed over tiles for any lvt job. Ive done it now lol :lol:
Me personally i wouldn't use ardex NA. Its compression strength is a bit weak for my liking. I would also stick with a Fiber reinforced if its a wooden floor or maybe Fballs 200. Or give one of the mapei products a try .
I'll tell you why I'm asking for opinions. I've been using 300 as a binder for other things and using 9.5mm ply for my test pieces. When I was throwing some away I was actually standing on them and bending them on a gravel driveway and they didn't crack or show any signs of it. I was surprised.
