So spacia is made in china, is all Karndean made there? That vusta gear is china. What LVT isn't china, I take it amtico is uk
Im not sure about Amtico. Spacia is 100% made there. Karndean is also reported to now be made there also. I think the question should be........ what is not made in china ! I was very disappointed earlier when i read on the box of some very expensive speakers i brought that they was made in China. If that the case then why have i paid so much for them!
Just about everything comes out of China these days, and why we ask quite a few reasons cheap labour, quick turn around, they have a less restrictive control over poloution from factories. China will eventually take over the world, not only do they have the largest population in the world but they have the largest armed forces in the world to and what do they do sit on the fence when theres a conflict and watch.
Not Kef's Wharfedale mate. They are for sale if you fancy a set ! I upgraded to some B&W's a while back. Not sure it was much of a upgrade tho, i cant tell the difference!
Can someone ex-plane to me how it is cheaper to make in Korea/China and then ship to u.k + add taxes?
I think coz we are mugs here mate, for instance electrical goods through Hong Kong are a fraction of the price with cheap labour and massive turnaround with no tax on their side
Out sourcing Matt I'll let you all into a little secret which you probably already know. The misses works for FCUK her range is spread across china, hong kong, india, turkey, italy, poland. Doing this helps her maintain her margin she has to hit a margin of 49%, she will place an order of say a t shirt for 10000 of this one style which will cost say £2.50 in their money, by the time it lands here and hits the shop floor its £25 that allows for shipping, transport, and all their other costs as a company and the biggest factor in this is currency the pound is so strong as a currency so exchange rates apply. If the pound was weak she wouldn't be able to do it. Italy make the best leather in the world but it comes at a cost to her she takes a hit on the leather but tightens the thumb screws on the others to balance her final figures for the end of season review. And she is the only one in the company that hits margin and has done for the last 5 years.
I think it really applies when your talking about container load quantities in which case distance isn't too much of an issue.
Well im pretty sure Jay, if you do go over there. You'll have no prob shifting Karndean etc by the container load!!
I'm not that strong these days cool 1 or 2 boxes at a time mate  I'll start my own range Jayndean or do you think thats a bit close to the mark.
