If you only have carpet on the stairs then you have no need for a uprite cleaner.

The dyson is a good hoover but its a load of bollox about it being bag-less and no loss of suction. Yes its bag-less, but it has filters to replace the bags that block and need replacing every month.

My personally i would get a Victor 'Yellow' with a HEPA filter. Really good robust hoover that takes cheap bags but really good filters. Can suck nails and all types up.

God knows, it's a Numatic Nuvac, I bought a re-usable bag to go with it.

How about one with a power tool socket on so that it auto starts and stops when you connect a tool to it.
I got a nilfisk one from screwfix that has power socket on board.
Works a treat connected to my tools, even my floor grinder makes hardly any dust.

You can't beat Henry, or any of his family. Some good British manufacturing that we actually have left!
The amount of abuse they can take is unreal, I know a gang of builders that use them to hoover up bits of rock and concrete when they smash up floors. No bag, just straight in the empty canister!
