I have use very long self tapping screws that way you got somewhere to hang stuff on the outside of the van for the sample books so you got a mobile showroom. LOL sorry mate small self tapping screws just about all vans are double skinned so you should be ok, usually the main cross members are quite large but do be carefull and make sure you're not gonna foul any of the wiring loom.

Nice van by the way Daz not a fan of the transit and never really have been, I always felt there was just to much body roll until I saw that episode of top gear where that woman yes woman takes the transit round the nurbergring to try and do a lap in less than 10 minutes.
I still by far the best vans for our trade had to be the old Hiace and Mazda great vans its such a shame that Toyota can not ship the new Hiace here as that would just sell to our trade without a doubt. Has anyone seen them its slightly bigger and more boxy than the old hiace still uses the same old bullet proof 2L2 engine.

Only problem with the Mazda, its like being the rear gunner in a lancaster, anything hits you your dead. I feel much happier having a engine between me and anything thats gonna hit me

Well theres a thing as if the engine is in front theres a good chance that'll end up on ya lap, and an impact at that speed would be a killer anyway engine infront of you or not.
Besides my grandfathers neighbour was a rear gunner in a lancaster and he survived the war as a pow after jumping from his gun as the lancaster plumeted over enemy lines in a ball of flames. And no parachute cause being the rear gunner meant the parachute was stowed behind you on a shelf which happened to be on fire so he had no choice and jumped. How did he survive, he fell into a forest of german pine trees which broke his fall along with a massive snow drift. He picked himself up brushed himself off and surrendered at the nearest checkpoint. I wish they were both still alive today so I could have a pint with them again.

I have posted this before, the Mazda is great for little carpet fitters. If you over 5' 3" you can't see with the sun visor down, and the steering wheel blocks the speedo.

Does a Mk7 Transit lwb take 4m with a single seat and the bulkhead removed? Thinking of swapping my T5 for one.

    Thanks in advance

If I take some picture of my van racking you could probably copy it mate? Well get an idea from it. I built the racking myself first time around, 2 weeks later I locked up (trying to avoid going up the back of some1) with around 50 packs of quickstep in the back. It slide from the back to the front and wiped out all my racking on the way. What a goon. Never building that again, bad design :x :?

LOL quality Merit like it that tickled me. Although I have to say I know someone from quite a few years ago now who had loaded his nissan urvan with bags of latex then a full roll of forbo on top of them, the roll of forbo was now higher than the bulkhead. During his drive to site someone pulled out infront of him and nothing stopped that roll from launching itself from the back through his tools through the passanger seats, the dash and front end and windscreen of the van to land on the back end of the car that pulled out. You should've seen the mess of his urvan it was 6 months old and the insurance company write it off.

I went from T5 lwb to transit lwb because I was fed up having back open if I had more than 3 small cuts on. My trannie has had a pair of extra seats fitted behind drivers seat and my front seats are out (unless I've had a tidy up and am giving Dan a lift), can get 4.60 in under passenger footwell or 4.40 up to dash. Few downsides - vans alot bigger, parking can be awkward (still backed into a car even with parking sensors), not as luxurious, lots more road noise and fuel economy isn't great.
