    Hi all,

My old screeding trowel finally gave up the ghost today and I'm looking to buy a new one.

Any thoughts on the best makes and size blades to go for ?

Wickes are the best price on these. Get the largest one they do.

Just to add, your trowel (as people who attended the forum open day last week will know) should be used simply as a tool to push your compound into place. Hence the bigger it is the better. If your using a spike roller and a good compound you dont really need a trowel.

If your using alot of water mix screed maybe getting a rake or a screed leveller might help you.

This is the style I always use

I like the pointed nose to work the screed into corners cleanly. This 400mm narrow one costs about £7 from tool station but you'd be better with a stainless one.

I used to fork out for Marshaltown trowels, but the Ragni ones are good quite narrow with a chunky wooden handle. What a tool!

I have a couple of Marshall town trowels 13 inch I think maybe 12 it's the best I've found over the years they get a nice curve to them quite soon very good to use I have 2 of them and alternate use them so there both the same feel so if I lose or one breaks I still have another worn in ready as I hate the feel of a new trowel

I would love to be able to supply the kool glide and a few other tools unfortunatly some companies dont see the UK as a good market. (back to that discount warehouse image) I have sent request to a few companies but some dont even reply!

Lastest ome is a Swiss company
