Gutted

after spending 3 months working my fingers to the bone last year, i found out yesturday that another company has taken credit for my work! the CFJ featured my works regarding red Bull in there mag last year for fitting of the month and did a good write up regarding tretford carpets and said another company had done the work!

Yea just a bit, put a complant in to CFJ mag waiting for a reply also tretford are using the photos of my jobs and no mention of whom fitted them great for them to gain sales but i would like to see them fit it in that style lol

JHC have written to them and tretford on my behalf as they have tripped there sales due to the job so should be something done about it.

The same kind of thing happened to my old man and grandfather years ago they got some award for a carpet job (cant remeber what)
But the firm they were subbing to at the time ran the same advert for years "Have your carpet installed by award winning fitters" even years after they had stopped doing work for them

think you can see by the job pic's why i am really P*** off by what has happened

 

fair play that looks superb, it must have taken you ages to work out and fit.

 

the cream black and yellow carpet took three 14 hour days to cut the carpet in to 33 cm wide sections with a 12 cm yellow boarder

then it was a case of marking out the entire floor and writing the colours on the floor to avoid mistakes as this pattern runs through 4 areas this took nearly 2 days as this area was 950m2

we then f3 4 x 4m section's at a time starting with the yellow square boarder then filled the middle with the design once the first 4 x4 square was completed the rest was just a case of working of the first section till we completed this took about 6 14 hour days to fill the entire area then to give the floor a really cool finish we cut 2 ribs hundreds of times down out of each colour and used inpact adhesive to stick to the walls giving the entire area a really cool look.

with the wheel of colour this was a nightmere to plan as this patten ran through nine areas and through corridoors so what we did was took the centre point if a 2 m wide tretford carpet measured back by 3.5 m then cut the triangle out of each colour then starting from the middle worked our way out across all the areas this was a total nightmere as one mistake the last colour would have been wrong

this took nearly 9 days to complete 1060 m2 covered

we then made the record out of carpet i will not share how we done this lol

It's really cool and makes me very proud when your work gets the type of comments that have come through

can't wait for the next project to come up i love doing this type of works i hope to get more people involved in it to
