Yes welded miles of the stuff and found taking your time gouging out was very important so when you spat the wastage off you dont take chunks out of skirting. Give me cap and cove any day.

Blade are you welding Lino to the skirting, like Buller says good grove and slow and steady on number 4 - 5 on the liester. If you are doing Lino then again a good grove and only use the Marmo weld, but its not going to weld it as you can't weld a Lino to a pvc or vinyl product all you're actually doing is filling the grove with the weld rod, it will eventually break down.
Also it helps to make sure the toe of the skirting is well bonded to the floor if not this will puker up as you're welding.

Next question is "will it be better and easier to buy the MOZART TRIMMER"? or use the quarter moon to trim up??.

I'm horrified you don't have a Mozart Trimmer yet. Get one and you'll wonder how you ever managed without it, a must own tool for your welding kit.

At last join the club Blade, don't ditch the old skriving knife just yet as the mozart ain't no good for cuttin the weld from the coil. Plus don't use it on safety sheet welds or the blade and blade sadle are gonna get worn very quick.
The blade can be sharpened a few times using a dremel with the fine pointed sharpening wheel/stone.
Also using a piece of fine wet and dry run the sadle back and foward a few times to take the burs of the edge, its punched out of steel so it will leave scratches unless you clean it up. Have fun.
