Help with racking

    Right if anyone is in merseyside tomorrow an wants to help, get down to mine :lol:
    If not, what do I need to buy lads?
    12 ply ok?
    2 x 1 for battens?
    What size screws?
    Anything else I will need, got 6 gripper today which should help.

    Alright daz,
    Use 12mm for the floor/shelving, and 6mm for the walls. Go for 2*2's for the battens.
    Just make sure all the walls are covered, anything that bashes the panels from the inside will defo cause rusting dents on the outside :smile:

    Bloody weather mate, are you gonna slide another support under the middle of the floor section, just a thought as it may sag with a load on. And I wanna see some nice border work on the deck mate you know you can. LOL

    Ha Ha nice one, I was think of throwin some polysafe on it. yeah got some battens for down the middle when I have a lot of gear on.
    Got the right side rackin started then doing something on the left too

    I have my sheet rack under the roof. I'm the only one I know that has it there. I'll try to post some pics.

    daz , you havn't put across beam in at 8ft , when you put your ply in and brake hard , you are not getting your ply back.

    I will dave a long stick with a nail in to drag any bits out I hope. Going to put my hamter in there too :lol: :twisted:

    The right side is done now, right pain as was running out of wood. Will take pictures tomorrow.
    Now then hard part deciding what goes where :roll:

    Done the sides now, a few bits I still want to do yet though, need to sort a place for 9ft doortrims.

    looking good mate.

    One thing tho. I would move your roller so its up against the bulk head. If you was to have a crash the roller will carry on at the same speed you crash out. I wouldn't fancy that coming flying through the bulkhead at 30 mph etc.

    I do carry alot mate that was main reason for gettin the van and to get ply in too.
    Having all the samples on the van for LVT saves going to get them and go back to show the customer

    i like the setup you have mate especially the holder for your mixer :D i have a swb also the only way for 9 footers is roof tube and bars which i have.also you do have alot of samples lol i hate keeping samples in van there always indoors only come out when quoting.will post up pics of my racking at some point but mine only hold me tools.another idea for you i cable tied a carpet tube to the roof (on the inside) where the lights are to hold me broom and screed rollers etc very nice tho mate :D
