Reminds me of the time I put water in drum, added screed and stuck mixer in middle switched off (so I thought) No power, went to switch on power and forgot safety button was switched in (20 feet away) and proceeded to spin round and round till it snapped cable! Down to B&Q and got a garden mower connector plug to get working but screed was gubbed.
LOL I've done the same thing but with DPM F75 and with Altro Fix 19, the f75 was so runny it went everywhere and the altro fix 19 well thats like a solid so the drill went bouncing around the floor with tub attached flicking lumps of glue out of the tub as it bounced around.
My screeding disaster was four years ago when I was putting 300 down in a brand new house. I was mixing in the garage and carrying the flexitub across the brand new tarmac driveway to the front door. When over the driveway one handle on the tub snapped and the entire tub of screed poured over the tarmac running down the gradient. There wasn't a hose only a tap at the rear of the house and I was manically running back and forwards with buckets of water, trying to shovel some screed into another bucket rinse the remainder away while scrubbing furiously. Eventually after half an hour it was clear the surface was stained beyond cleaning and I was estimating how much this was going to cost my insurance company. I was at this point a builder from the developers who had been watching wandered over and informed me the drive still had a finish layer of tarmac to go over it .....phew!! I now carry tubs as low as possible so if the handle does snap there won't be worse than a slight splash.
Ye the Mapei bucket is not really the best for mixing in. Its more of a flash measuring bucket. The Itools buckets are the best. No chance of the handles coming off or cracking a bucket even with 3 bags mixed up in the same bucket. Infact i have actually worn out the metal paddle and the bucket still has plenty of life in it.
