Hi to all this is my first post on this forum Been in flooring for 29 years now thats depressing what do you boys do i only do contract 95% in the retail sector nationwide as i subby working with my son Have done it before but cant do domestic its working with the general public i find to much like hard work Dave
Hi Dave welcome i do mostly contract hardflooring and tiles and some domestic mostly Karndean and Amtico. Steve
After - again! - a bad experience today, being contracted by a Property Management company for an insurance job, we will think twice before doing any contracting again. Domestic clients are much nicer ;-) (and keep their promises).
Thanks for all your welcomes i can only do contract i know it limits me but have been busy for a number of years with steady work . Domestic is just to much aggrovastion dealing with the general public i know contract can be a pain but i much prefer it. Dave
i find domestic pays better. Saying that tho i do have a good customer base that are happy to pay me extra to spend my time doing the job. i know others are not as lucky. Contract can pay better if you get the meters down but there is always issues on contract jobs and they seem to get 'bodged' a lot that i cant bring myself to do. Not the flooring installers fault but normaly the project manager etc not knowing what they are doing.
anyone done portakabins?, doing them very soon as an on going contract, ive been told i can get away with charging what i want, but i dont wana take the p!ss.
