Right, om my first post on here I mentioned that I had been fitting for about a year now, the problem is the farther and son that are teaching me don't seem to want to anymore and I think it's because they think I'll take their job as they work for a relative of mine. So I went online to see if I could find any flooring courses and found a site called flooring assessments wich is obviously linked to this site. What I wanted to know is how do the apprenticeships work?, will I have to pay? and how long is an appreticeship for? any info would be great.
ive just turned 19 and went to college when i was almost 16 then done a diploma in floor covering, and if we wanted an apprenticeship we had to source our own companys, i was the only one who found one (others couldnt be a*sed or couldnt find any) i worked for the company for the last year of my college course, hope this helps
Dave (Flooring Assessments) will be along tomorrow to answer your questions mate. Spoke to him earlier and he is away at the moment.
If you would like to claim funding for the apprenticeship you will need to be employed in some way, the funding is there to encourage employers to take on young apprentice it works as follows, 16 to 18 apprenticeship and then the 19+ apprenticeship, if you feel this could be of any use to you contact me on 07515885912 and we will see what we can do for you.
