I am forever coming in from work with my delphin knife in my pocket then worrying that it might fall out i put it on a high sheft to keep in out of the way of my kids. So this morning all 3 knifes were left at home so had to buy a Stanley interlock today to keep in my tool bag. Pain in the bum cause kept goin to put in in my pocket with no holster. Ow What knife do you use?
same as you mate. Im for ever leaving them at home if i take them off. Major issue them knifes dropping out. I lost one in a pub once. I went to have some dinner while waiting for glue to dry and got back to job to find my Dolphin knife missing. Returned to pub ASAP and recovered it before someone was injured. It had fallen down the back of a chair but the blade was still sticking out the chair by maybe 1/4" so would of done some damage if someone sat down. Anyway, simple fix. I heat up my holsters and squash them so they grip the knife tight. Stops them falling out.
I started using these about 4 years or so ago and just bought a load more so I never have the need to go back to a delphin knife, those things feel so tiny in your hand after using a shark :lol:
Ive always used delphin knife, my mate uses the 2000 ones with the blue clip on the side, they look pretty good. He uses the small straight blades for carpet, Ive alway used medium.
I hardly use the holsters as I keep getting the blade poke out the bottom where keep pushing it in bit to hard, real pain in the arse or even leg when the blade keeps catching the side of your leg and the wife kept getting arsey when I phoned her to bring knives out to me as forgot them again I think I had 7 on shelf in the study once good idea tho put them up high out of way of kid if only I could remember to pick them up the next morning, now just keep 3 in box and 3 in the van
2 delphin knives for me, one hooky, one straight. Why do you lose them? Why don't you just put them in your toolbox after each job?
Thats what I was thinking? I dont like the holsters either, too easy to scratch a wall when you working
The reason I say that is because when I go back to the van to eat my dinner, I usually still have my knives on me and as soon as I sit down they fall out of their holsters, so it's just a normal thing for me to get rid of them as soon as I can......I'm always concious of them rattling around in their holsters so I get rid of them as soon as the job is done.
But surely the holsters are on the inside of your pockets........are you sure you're not wearing them the wrong way round?
I don't like using them inside pockets as feels like they stop trousers bending and moving properly with knees
:lol: I suppose it depends on what pocket you put them in I have them in right knee pocket of snickers trousers, and yeah only got little legs 29 inchs bit out of per portion for a bloke who's 6 feet 2 :shock:
:lol: :lol: Ive not found any other makes that last like snickers do been using the Kevlar ones for last 15 months still like new ( under the glue and latex ) knees havnt even started to wear, sounds like I don't do a lot of work
I use 3 delphin knives 1 loaded with concave 1 with hooks and 1 with straights. I never leave them in my pockets, I have this almost anal habbit of making sure all tools get put away after every job.
I never realised that their was a problem with knives comming out of the case. They always seem fairly tight when new, is this somthing that happens with wear on the case? Maybe a form of lock is needed.
