This just in but did anyone know you can be a collector/finder of golf balls its a job.
To put it simple the average golfer loses 4 balls per round in the water.
    Each ball costs around £1.50.
The clubs employ you to find them in a wet suit for .50p each ball cause they can re-use and re-sell them on the driving range.
Just watching this program where this guy finds them and sells them back for .50p he clocked up 1,000,000 balls last year so thats £500,000 for wading in water collecting balls.
Thats it I'm hanging up my knives and collecting golf balls.
In the states its called white gold. They say theres around 50,000,000 balls missing theres gold in them there balls.

my sister lives on a golf course in Tenerife. She is about 150 yards up off the T. You would be amazed how many balls coming flying in the garden daily. As her garden is fenced of and she has a massive dog the golfers simply leave there balls. My sister is not the politest of people either when people ask for there balls back so generally keeps them (guess you wont be very polite either if golf balls was hitting you daily)

anyway, i tend to go out and sit smacking them into the sea etc of a night time. I also enjoy throwing a few balls on the green so when people get there they dont know which ball is there's , naughty i know but very entertaining for me.

 nice like that I'm gonna try that next time leave a couple of balls on the green.
When I was a kid long time ago we use to lay in the bunkers and wait for the balls to land on or near the green then grab them an leg it and have a right giggle while they were scratchin their heads lookin for them.

The clubs round here buy them from the kids that find them then resale good ones and use crap ones for the driving range little buggers make loads for a couple of hours hunting around the bushes, one course there is a bloke that in the summer goes down the river in his canoe fishing balls out, bloody annoying seeing how many he has when I pay £45 for 12 balls and he prob has so many of the same ones but will only sell to the club,

Thats cause he's only allowed to sell to the club otherwise they can call the police as its on their land. The program I just watched the guy thought you could just do it with out asking and was arrested for theft and charged. So you must get permision.

I presume only if its on the golf clubs land?

As for my sister for example its her property so i take it that she can keep the balls and sell where she wants?

There was a thing about this happening a couple of years back aswell.
On some new courses that are getting built the water features have some sort of lining in them that slopes to the centre of the pond, then every now an then they drain them and collect the ballls
