Sounds good wish I could update software on both me and wife both can't update software, the update takes about 2 hours gets to 99% then freezes then pops up with message saying timed out :x I have to drive 40 miles to nearest apple store to get update done
A notice comes up at 99% saying network conection unsuccessful, aparently its something to do with a fire wall :?: it's a common problem with some comps and laptops they say, me the wife and inlaws all have same problem so take them all up at same time which the misses uses as an excuse to go shopping for the day keeps her quiet
I need my mate to look at it as he's a technology geek and I have the computer skills of an amoeba :| I need to get it sorted as for a free update it costs a fortune in fuel and the wifes shopping
i know this might sound stupid but if you have time to trawl round you tube, you might find answers. if i cant do something i look at you tube. im crap with tech but i jailbroke my ipod and added different programmes.
I keep sayin it the more tech you put into summit the more of yourlife time you waste trying to sort it out an make it work. I see Blackberry took a dump the other day lol. Just call me Victor Meldrew or Scrooge i hate christmas as well bah humbug.
I got the Samsung Galaxy S2 a couple of weeks ago and I'm loving it. Can't compare to anything else though as it's my first smart phone.
And to think Jay I was going to buy you the new iphone 4s for christmas...... I'll send you some socks mate and a pencil & pad
Ha Ha you a very funny man, got plenty of pencils an pads mate could do with some socks though as they're gettin holy now.
It sounds more like a connection problem, out of interest are you all using the same ISP (internet service provider) ? I run a sideline business in IT and I've seen it a lot lately especially with those using Sky. A simple removal of their useless security bundle usually solves the problem.
Vito I'll try up date later and try and get a pic of the message when it pops up you might be able to help
I've seen it dozens of times already mate. If you uninstall the Sky bundle it'll work fine. You can download plenty of free firewall/anti-virus programs, if you need any help just let me know, I spend most evenings doing this kind of thing, beats getting on your knees  If you go to a mates house with a laptop and connect to his internet it'll go straight through ................ unless he has Sky
