Was goin to get this in the new year do you think it will be suitable? http://www.spotnails.co.uk/flooring.html
That's the one I've ordered. Already have the nail gun. I'll let you know if it's any good when I'm back in work.
So are staples on the way out? Should we all be using ring shank nails and screws? I haven't trusted staples for the last few jobs I've done. Or heavy duty staples don't they actually fix wood flooring with staples in the u.s
it does the job. its light weight also. But like i say it would struggle with any other tools attached to it or tools that need more air. You can get a much larger compressor for less money but obviously the larger compressor is more heavy.
Merit, there is nothing wrong with spotnails guns and staples. The plywood has lowered in quality and the staples now simply pull through the poor the poor quality plywood. Because of this the staplers have been down graded. So yes now it means ring shanks or screws. But does that mean in a couple of years time that the plywood will get worse and ring shanks etc will start to fail? The flooring whole sallers need to stop buying in crap. Wickes stuff is still o.k. O and yes the usa and u.k have been stapling down engineered floors for maybe 20 years.
Any 2HP one will be good enough. Pref get a oil free one for ease of maintenance and not worrying about it falling over in van and leeking oil. I have a 1.5HP one also that is also fine and the spotnails original compressor was 1.5 bar, but i think they recommend a 2HP compressor. Spotnails compressors have a very small reserve tank hence cant run big stuff on there compressors. Or as i use to do i used to run a air fed mask off the compressor while using the old adhesives before they was banned.
DRAPER 02230 OIL FREE 2HP/1.5KW.sEEN THIS ON EBAY AS ITS ONLY 9KG IN WEIGHT WILL IT BE ANY GOOD FOR THE SPOTNAILS PNEUMATIC STAPLER?.Please advise cheers Martin.
It doesnt look like a normal comp with the tank it looks like one without the tank (compact) and light very handy for on/off the van but wary it wont be up to the "task"?,please check thanks .
This is mine I've had a couple of years for my coil nailer. 2HP / 6ltr and really compact.....about £163 + delivery http://www.abac-support.co.uk/individualmodels/directdrive/00B3BB404, VENTO OM231.htm
