    How do you get an anprentice on site if they dont have a CSCS card? when they obviously have`nt qualified to get one.
    I`m going to need to take on anprentice within the next month or so and have a good lad in mind, but sometimes do site work where CSCS is required can anyone on help me on this one?

    I know some of the guys on this forum train aprenticeses for this purpoe but I stay near Glasgow

    you can get a cscs card for apprentices/trainees
    RED CARD - TRAINEE (Craft and Operative)

    You will qualify for this card if you are a trainee, and registered for an NVQ or SVQ (or Construction Award) but have not yet achieved level 2 or 3 and have met current CSCS Health and Safety requirements.

    Have phoned Skills Development Scotland and they are going to get back to me in the next couple of days,also looks like I can get funding up tp £2K which would certainly help

    Hi Merv, they will need to do there H&S Touch screen test then they can get on site, we sort everything out so that's not a problem

    Have you got anymore info Dave in regard to getting funding when taking on an aprentice?
