Need some quick help please. New forum being built, its costing a small fortune so want it right. I need a list of mods you want doing. I.E - a 'thanks' button a 'like' button ? you want another chat box? What do you all want? what do you use on other forums you like ? I want to build a new forum that is ahead of others and future proofs us for a few years so can we have you suggestions ASAP please as i want to get it finalized as soon as possible. 'Thanks'

Daz, we have then in Trader section ! Anyway, chat sections are easy to create. Its the funky options that take time and i need to pay someone to do. Like ' thanks' buttons. The forum software has to be re-programmed by someone that understands computer talk.
I know mate but why they in there :?: In fact prob a good idea so public can't see. Ok I'll think of more. I iPhone app so like Facebook you could put photos and videos on the sites straight from your phone. Is your mate doing it for you. I pay £5 a year to the Tranmere forum for extra benefits like a secret topic and few other things so maybe do that for the regular lads
a rep button, thats a good idea If we think someone gives out good advice etc we can vote positive once on their profile etc And obviously if they speak utter sh**e then they get a negative, but you only get the 1 vote, saves it getting confusing :lol:
So far im going for - Thanks / reputation button Facebook / Twitter linked in Chat box Donation button Fitters directory (this will be better than yellow pages etc for advertising) Rolling pictures at side of new listed pics Latest threads / posts at side . . . . what else? this is getting expensive ! and no DAZ, my mate not doing. Im paying some random to build as my mate to busy. We are well it to 4 figures as it is tho hence i want to get it right and not have people asking me to add stuff like 'thanks' buttons etc when the new forum is 2 weeks old.
yes mate, i can do them now. BUT i hate sites that offer adds that have nothing to do with the forum/site your on. Hence i dont have dodgy adds on here. The only adds i plan on having are going to be flooring related and trusted companys like i have at the moment. i really dont want to go down the route of other forums trying to sell you crap.
could also do with some sort of pop up alert when we have new mail? Lost count of the times i have mail, but never noticed
You do have that on here. BUT, you will find your setup is blocking it. You need to allow pop ups from the forum.
Im a member of a motorbike forum, and they have a donate/paypal button function Someone mentioned it on an earlier post But I really think this would be a winner for the new site, that way regular members new or old can feel they are giving something back something for the expert advice, camaraderie etc on here
Thas like what they have on TFP, and if you've donated then you get a little caption under your avatar saying I SUPPORT TFP. I donated and would do the same here.
