first evening on the site so during a quick browse i came across this section & thought it a good call... so here goes...

like a previous newby it took me several attempts to get past the code breaker!!! but now on so all good... :D

i'm a hardwood floor fitter based in port talbot, south wales on the M4 corridor BUT i put in the miles to keep the diary ticking over. the majority of my installs are on the periphery of london, Bucks, Berks, Hamps etc with other areas covered upto the west midlands across to the midlands area then down to the south coast & back to the south west (dev/corn) ;)

i install mainly engineered (when given the choice) & solid, also occassional laminate. PLUS i install electric u/fh, skirtings, to-staircase, etc etc

i'm always on the look out for additional leads, more than happy to put the miles in & always willing to undertake any challenge that comes my way...

look forward to frequenting this site as it looks a v,pro & well managed site - unlike another one i used previously!!!

    cheers for now...

think you know the one, you're on it ;) ... it's gone a bit off the rails lately & to be honest some of the members (EG Na___ Ni__) are only on there to raise their own self esteem & try to disparage everone else from behind their laptop

anyway this site makes that one look like something from the Ark

Is that "tongue in cheek" merit?.Covering(pardon the pun) a large area allows more work in yer palm, does it not.

Yeah but how do you get work that far away, Ive never had any1 from Wales ask me to do a job? I would travel for the work tho, as long as it was worth it

i see your in hampshire merit, i was down in Puttenham working a week ago in Roger Taylor's in-laws house (The Queen drummer) that's not too far from you eh? i do quite a bit in the GU postcode area & on the commute belt around LDN, this is where the ££ is being spent & unless I put the miles in i would never sustain enough work to keep bread on the table - not ideal & i loath being away 3-4 nights a week but that's how it is & what i've always done ;)

i only undertake an install away from home if it's worth my while, rarely <50M2 for solid or eng., (generally >60M2) and >60M2 for laminate...

i have built up few reliable relationships with developers whom i do all the wood flooring aspect for, plus recommendations & use of one of those 'tradesman' type websites to generate some work.

plus i do a bit of laminate contract work to suppliment my own installs for a nationwide coverage company.

Yeah I know puttenham well, was over there in December doin some carpets. Some big houses over there the streets a pain tho. Funny you mention queen, we did a wood floor for Brian May when I very first started out, that was in windlesham, do you do any work round that way? Well I was told it was Brian Mays house, never actually got to meet him or see him.
