I am one of these 'supposed floorlayers' aswell in as much as I dont fit every day !

On the jobs that I have done I have always primed under the screed but never on top of screed or feather finish before applying the glue which im my case has always been F46. This has worked ok for me so far although I think I did read on here somewhere over the last day or so that you should prime over a new screed !

Hard to keep track sometimes, especially when you only fit occasionally.

we always recommend priming. Its not essential but there are so many reasons why its good practice to prime. Primer watered down cost pennys and dries in 5 minutes ready for glue. Shouldn't really be any reason why you dont prime.

Thanks I'm going to prime his reason for not primingis he hasn't got a roller and unless customer buys him one won't be priming when I asked him how he would of primed for the 700 if I wasn't there to use mine his answer was he would just feather it and on small bathrooms he's mixed primer in with 700 before  how does this man still getting work

I use a car sponge for primer it's loads easier quicker etc! I'd prime after the screed aswell!

not me first choice of primer.

As long as its watered down at 4/1 + then yes. But like i say it would not be my choice of primer.

4/1 can it go down neat or not all mine gets mixed as soon as I get it as my mate keeps "borrowing" mine and always puts it on neat if he can

only use 131 neat as primer under smoothing compounds over DPM or ceramics.

When using 131 as primer to glue to you want it well watered down.

As said above, i would use a different type of primer personally like uzins or Mapei etc.

depends on whos primer you use. 131 for example will leave a rubber finish. Mapei or Uzins are ok neat.

The other problem with neat is it dries before it penetrates the compound. SO the dusty top layer can be sealed but really you wanted the primer to penetrate.

Ply and fit a bathroom in 45. Why not?
1 sheet of ply, no toilet or sink.
I do bathrooms for a tiler who plys and feathers the floor.
No toilet or sinks in and sometimes no wall tiles on. Have done a few of them in less then 30mins
Love it when I get to his jobs and see that.
