Can anyone advise me on buying from e-bay?

If an item is advertised and doesn't say if it is 110 or 240 v and I buy it and it's not the voltage I want, can I send it back/ refuse it?

I've asked the question of the seller but only just and it ends shortly!!

Sorry not sure but if it's a good buy you can just get a transformer on eBay next? :?

Good idea merit but didn't really want to lug one around if I didn't need to.

Just to say I wasn't the highest bidder. The guy did contact me the very moment the auction ended to say they were 110v so perhaps just as well.

But how does something that was £500 one day sell for £2450! I was edging my bids up continuously in the last few minutes but someone must have been like lightning - every time I put in a bid he put in one better until......it was too late!! the auction ended and I was unhappy.

He'd probably already entered a higher bid than you, that's all. As you increase your bid it moves up towards his maximum bid etc.

Matt - it was some Bona sanding equipment - Bona belt sander, edging sander, buffing machine and dust extractor. I reckon it would have cost at least £8000 to replace but I didn't know what the highest bid was.
