Who does prime for adhesive? Why do you? I never used to but do sometimes now on screeds but does it really need it? I don't prime plywood as I tend to feather finish the whole floor so I don't prime that. I use f.ball primer most of the time an when priming adhesive on screeds I mix it about 4-1
primer gives a better bond for the adhesive and the adhesive will go further. Downside is the adhesive will take longer to set. Is it really needed? well depends on the strength of bond. For instance if you was using F46 or similar i would always prime. If i was using F3 to stick a carpet down then i would prime if the subfloor was dusty but if a good base its not really necessary. For the time it takes and how cheap it is i just crack on and prime every floor .
if im fitting vinyl on ply , then i'll prime. other than that straight over latex and lvt usual feather joints properly but then do a watery mix for the rest of the ply . hope this makes sense cause i'm p1ssed, love you all
