Need some help been to look at a wet room where the capping strip as been fit on top of the wall instead of under and the water from the shower as got behind the capping and vinyl and left a big hole in the lounge underneath. is there a capping strip you can put on the surface of the wall and be watertight!

what is the wall? ceramics maybe and then capping is glued to the tiles i presume?

Do the tiles go all the way to the floor?

    Have you got a picture?

The wall is cladding like whiterock right down to the floor i have no pics the capping is glued to the cladding which is the wrong way round the cladding should be on top of the vinyl. i did see a capping strip on youtube once were the strip was screwed to the wall on top of the vinyl and then a strip was clipped on after and sealed it cant find it now.!

other than cutting the cladding back and getting the vinyl under it i cant see any other fix than silicon accross teh top of teh capping strip. Proper cow bow but what else can you do.

This cladding stuff, do you think it would be possible to weld to it?

its just the normal capping strip the vinyl slips into, the fitter did silicon on top of the capping strip but the water always gets behind it. you could clad on top of the cladding and finish where you should but it will cost a bit to clad it again. i would not like to cut the bottom of the cladding of as there are pipes and wires behind it.

    cheers lads Steve

What do you think of this for doing the job if i omit profile B and use the vinyl instead http://www.teleseal.co.uk.

Bit late sorry, whats worked for me in the past is White Rock do a double transition strip, a bit like a double sided cap tile strip if that makes sense.
Then cut back White rock to desired height and using clear silicone to bond the strip slide it up under the white rock and slot the white rock into one of the open edges.
Then you are left with a strip almost the same as a Cap tile strip.
