Completed this install yesterday - First one i,ve done of the artificial grass - looked beaut, straight onto 50M2 of existing decking & nice tight / neat finish under the existing stainless steel edging...

having quite a few enquires for this lately, growing in popularity & the quality of the products is very good indeedy...

    hows it fixed?
is it breathable? (will water run through it and also stop timber getting trapped water)
how thick is it? will i drop into the decking lines / gaps ?

Hows it fixed - it's tacked using 1.5" galv clouts to brickwork & steps, plus existing screws removed then 'grassed' then re-fitted to the stainless edging

it is weaved pretty much like carpet, has a rubber backing with drainage holes to allow water to dissipate

thickness varies in line with cost - 5mm pile to 30mm pile being the more luxurious

as far as i'm aware there will be minimal sag / drop into the decking

    * basically the more conventional install is to replace the existing lawn - this is removed, weed membrane laid, hardcored & whacked / compacted then sand applied & levelled then the grass is rolled out....

It does seem to be getting more and more popular.
Don`t fancy digging out and hardcore etc. Job for the digger boys, and if there digging out, there bound to have a go at fitting too.

Whats wrong with a lawn mower anyway ?
