I went to see a customer today who said they wanted wood flooring. When I got there they showed me to a gazebo( posh shed thingy to you lot!) set on the rolling grounds of their abode.

Although it is enclosed - perspex on the lattice wood walls and plastic rollers on the windows - it is by no means weatherproof. It has a decking type floor with the usual gaps.

I told them I hadn't actually done anything like that before but I did belong to a forum where the members never fail to come up with a (sensible) solution.;)

My own ideas were to marine ply the base and then cover with either artificial grass( which seemed to appeal to them) or some sort of vinyl in wood effect. The unit is hexagonal 3.25m side to side.

    Any thoughts anyone?

I've done one of those, for my mate. Put down 6mm ply and self adhesive vinyl tiles for him. It was a proper bodge job and he knew it, he didn't want to spend any money. The ply was ok but the tiles would move and shrink all the time. Marine ply and grass sounds like a great idea

marine ply is for wet areas. Exterior ply is what is needed. (saying that with the quality plywood......)
