Who cuts there capping on externals or raps round ? I always rap round as i personally think it looks better and have had to repair to many mitred externals where people catch it and pulls off, also I weld my joins before I tuck sheet under capping but yesterday got told by shop owner to do it properly and mitre corners or don't do it at all, this is the same shop that bounced a cheque on me for £900 last week,

i rap around. Before i rap around tho i put some material in it and warm in up and strech around corner. Allow to cool and then remove material. It should now be correct shape.

    I always miter internals tho.

I always put small piece of what I'm laying in rap round to and take out just before tucking under, I don't mitre internals tho I square fit one and cut other one out moon shape that sits over the first one

same as you on internal. When i say mitre im referring to both are cut rather than trying to bend around

Always found it strange when people use a mitre block for internals only to find mitre isn't 90 degrees and spend time trimming and shaping for it to fit

Tell your shop to attend one of matts courses or go online and show them how altro recommend how it should be done.

He didn't like it because when he did it it kept on bubbling out on external, we came to an agreement I won't be working for him again and when he pays the money he owes I'll drop his automatic welder back

i always wrap externals, and as matt said earlier, neat trick to save a headache is to stick a piece of vinyl in the capping while you wrap it get the spacing bob on so you arnt struggling to get it in later

Super guy and very patient with newbies like me and my mates. Met him in mercado Belfast on the bus and still was very enthusiastic about the trade.

I always have this argument, and it usually gets shot down by showing that HCS48 comes in a 25m coil so why would the corners be mitred.
    Except for the obvious internals.
The weakest link to the external is the mitred capping seen it split apart all to often.

Same as everyone else i always wrap externals but i take a small section out of the back of the capping. About half inch either side of the corner.

dont like wrap arounds i have seen them fall off as too tight i prefer mitred with a bit of mitre bond on the corner solid then!
