Hello, Just a quick one, do you guys make your own invoices or use pre created templated ones? I am in the process of creating my own invoice template. Should be done soon. Cheers, Mike
I use to use a template created on word but use a online account system now that I can raise invoices on and send out in PDF format which is what they should be really. If your printing them off and sending them it don't matter tho.
I use rfms estimator software links direct to QuickBooks, personalised invoices and a massive database you can add to cracking bit of kit. Invoices either hard copy or PDF or both.
Invoices?? I just email them the accepted cost with a request for payment for floor coverings prior to project commencing and installation rate due upon satisfactory completion.
I'm Just in the process of sorting invoices. Think I'm just going to create my own using word and print off 2 copies 1 for my records and 1 for customer
If you are just wanting to make your invoices / estimates look professional as some of the lads have said you can make something using Word etc. If you want professional invoices /estimates alongside a book-keeping system I would reccomend Quickbooks. I have posted this before but it tracks everything.....what you are owed, what you owe, handles all your invoicing and pricing (email aswell), it keeps track of your bank balance (or lack of ! lol) and the jewel in the crown for me is works out my VAT literally with a click of the mouse. If you like you can also enter prices for all the items or services you sell which will then allow the system to automatically work out a price based on the quantities that you enter......I dont do this becasue no two jobs are the same in my opinion. It does have downsides, from memory it cost around £ 300 but I have had the same version for years as if need be you can adjust the vat rate yourself etc. Also someone does have to spend the time at least once a month (but preferably weekly) entering every transaction into the system. What I like about Quickbooks are there are no monthly fees, its a one-off cost and there is a pretty good free knowledge base if you run into problems . I'm sure there are other similar systems out there hope this helps Ray
I use Quickbooks 2008 which was/is free and does all i need with logo on invoice and emailed pdf to customer, dead easy to use
just found a new one wave accounting http://waveaccounting.com/ had a wee bit of a tit around very similar to quickbooks but it's completely free
