That's right. Taped all round the edges and joints. I used some last year at a ambulance station. ( the floor where the wood block had popped, post on here somewhere) it went down well. Hard to fit in cold weather though.
Ah, I see, sorry to be slow on the uptake, I don't do safety. I'd like to learn welding, there's been one or two jobs I could have used xpresslay on.
I have fitted a couple of rolls of Xpresslay. For a part-timer like me it was a doddle. Maybe prime the edges and joins before applying the tape tho. Weld as with any other safety floor. Unaffected by moisture too if I remember rightly. Like !
Do you fit much of it Daz? Can you cut it freehand with a hooky (flat lay) as you would domestic vinyl, or does it need a bit of heat to bend it in first?
Only used it twice Sid. But found it great to cut. Used hook blade like fitting polysafe etc.. But top tip- if you can cut the lengths off the day before and leave flat as it really helps fitting it. Off the roll the edges can curl up a bit.
Just finished the 2 weekend today the stuff is brill to fit and weld, fit with hook blade one tip spray can all where the tape is going sticks better and you should get 2 rolls of tape per roll of xpresslay i only got 1 and was not enough, last weekend next week. Steve.
Sound`s like it`s good stuff. I`m gonna put it forward for a job I have coming up. Its got to be done at the weekend, so might save me a trip back on Sunday !
Regarding priming the floor before applying the tape. If you subscribe to Altro on you tube they reccommend applying a proper primer rather than spray glue. The first job I used spray glue on the edges first.....it worked and has lasted fine but they reckon it is possible it could have a detrimental affect on the tape ? Maybe just being over cautious! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSwYMIg01uc&feature=plcp
I have been laying it on top of polysafe if you use primer it will take ages to dry, spray does not. Steve
