Just seen about 10 people fishing in the local lake. All sitting there looking bored. Does anyone fish and why? I have been sea fishing on a day out in a boat which was good.
Living next to the sea done a lot of sea fishing when I was younger selling mackeral to the Chinese for a couple of £ and Conger hunts at night used to be great fun. took up fly fishing about 3 years ago took me a while to get the hang of it but catching a nice Rainbow on the fly is so rewarding.
I can't stand fishing, I've done it a few times and always hated it. I make sure I have plenty of beers if I do go.
Me and my oldest used to go every weekend, but these days he's glued to his xbox. We had a brilliant fortnight sea fishing in Clearwater in Florida about 4 years ago, shark fishing using balloons as floats....always looking for a reason to come out with the line "we're gonna need a bigger boat"
Went Marlin fishing in Mexico over 15 years ago on the way out we fished for Tuna got a couple of 30lb never caught a fish so big and we used it for bait hahahaha
I used to do a lot of river fishing for salmon and sea trout. Sadly don't get the time these days. When I do get a chance I still like to go to my local fisheries and fly-fish for Rainbow or Brown Trout. I used to find when i went fishing that it was a great way to clear your mind and forget your troubles for a few hours..........your mind focuses on catching a fish ! I was dead keen, made my own flies and everything......still have all the stuff..........may just have to make time for it again.
I used to do a lot of fly fishing for salmon and trout. One of the biggest rushes you can get is when you get a large salmon on and it runs. You basically need to get along the bank after it so too much line doesn't go out. Sometimes you need to get in the river after it. There's always the fear you can lose it too but when you land one it's the best feeling ...... once your heart comes down from 180 bpm. Sometimes we'd bring a disposable barbeque and eat the catch on the bank.
I've had some great days out deep sea fishing with mates, few beers in the sun good times looking to do a 2 day sport fishing trip in Florida next year
