I'm after a laser line that I can put on floor which will put a laser line on the skirting but at say 6-10mm height.
Seen a few that do a cross line but when you put in on the floor the line is about a inch or more above the floor.
Is there a similar laser anyone has that you can do the same but adjust the line lower?

The main reason I want this type is I was looking at a job the other day which is 3 rooms knocked into one (Will get pictures next week ) and the big area is higher then the others so thought if I put a laser on that part it would show the height I need to build up in the other ares. So I can then work out how much screed I will need.

The new Bosch laser will predict highs/lows but a tad pricey unless its frequently used.Hope this helps.

A video of them would be good. Need to try them out. What tool shops are there that let you demo tools. Screwfix and toolstation don't round my way

I dont think there is a laser that will put a line that low. Bosch do a cross line laser but its around 6 cm high.

If you want datum points you can use something as simple as match sticks. Very simple, you send a laser around room and then use a measure (stick with datum points on it to find high and low points) . You then cut a match stick to correct height and use a glue gun to bond it to the floor. You end up with a load of match sticks cut at correct height and then apply compound to top of them.

You should end up with a perfect level floor.

Daz, did you ever buy one of these ?
I have a keg room to do, all coved at 1m height.
I`m thinking a laser would be perfect to get my lines set up.

I didnt mate, need to see them before I buy. Want one that can do a line 5mm off the floor, if there is one.
I need to find a local tool shop which has loads of them

Hmm I don`t think I have seen one that goes that low.
I was thinking one would be a good idea for cap and cove, but for this job, it would be perfect.

Looks tidy, but £400 for probably not that much use.
I do like nice tools, but maybe can`t justify that.

Or maybe I can talk myself into it, just crack open another bottle, and get on ebay

ye we have them with with adjustable mount height for around £130 i think? they are self leveling also.

We use them for marking out capping strips, your lad will be using them soon.

I have one in stock i think, can check price for you tomorrow.

Not sure how your lad is getting to us next time? if you are dropping him you can try before you buy?

If you could mate, I have this job next week, so would be handy. What make/model ?
As for Charlie, it depends on work really.
We could be in Newcastle, or Brighton, or maybe even feet up at home.
If i`m not out on site, I will bring him up, and say hello.
He should be driving from May, so BEWARE !

If you dont have work on your welcome to sit in on the course. So next time he says " my dad says..... " LOL :D

I will look tomorrow to see what one it is.

PS, due to Health and Safety reasons can you ask him to park in the rear car park please. (in other words not next to my car)
