Used it a couple of times under amtico. One area was around 45sq, kitchen, diner and utility. No problems with it. I cut the jumpax in leaving about 6mm round the edge and cut the flooring in slightly short then gunned it in.
Used Forbo Quickfit Simple to use and seemed to be very stable http://www.forbo-flooring.co.uk/Com...cessories-for-Project-Vinyl/Subfloor-systems/
Jumpax, Versilay (Karndean) and the Forbo quickfit are all similar products doing a similar job I think. I have used the Versilay system a number of times - over quarry tiles, areas where there was no built in dpm and over thick bitumen without any problems. The only issue is the fact that you do need to leave expansion around the whole perimeter.
To be honest mate when I first started using it I never use to leave an expansion gap. I've done hallways, kitchens, lounge diners and never had an problems with it. Once the floor is fitted(over concrete) you would struggle to tell if its stuck down or floated. I think it's a great product.
Was going to use this system on a problem job as well (1950 house and no dpm) but they have a piano and worried about weight so scratching my head again now...
qa products run windsorfloor approx £25 per pack 2.88 sm pp check their website http://www.qaproducts.co.uk/
Going over suspect subfloors, insulating a cold concrete subfloor, no fixings in the subfloor and a perfect finish that doesn't need feather finish.
This system has 2 underlays which one have you used http://www.forbo-flooring.co.uk/Com...cessories-for-Project-Vinyl/Subfloor-systems/
Should not be used over damp floors (if you want a warranty ) It is designed to be used over PROBLEM subfloors. So - Contaminated (oil maybe) concrete Listed buildings where you cant do any subfloor preap Floating subfloors over existing floorcoverings It is also a fast system so could be argued that its labour saving over screed / plywood ?
