    Alright fellas,

has any of you laid any 350mm 3 core oak engineered over U/F/H ? im just wondering what adhesive would work best 1 0r 2 part or should I float. The manufactures say you can do both.

Im just worried about the width and the fact its £135 per m2 +vat !!

    your expert thoughts please.

That's a very wide floor to be installing over under floor heating. Are they offering you any kind of warranty, and if they are is it worth the paper it's written on after you have waded through the disclaimers?
If I were to do it I would glue it down with an MS polymer which is always my adhesive of choice, and I might also consider screwing it down as well.

    Hi,

My first thought is wow, That's a lot for an engineered floor.

Can you com down to a 300mm width as there are multiply boards that are 20mm in depth with a 6mm top of real wood on top (unfinished but you can put a finish on once fitted)

These are also far more suitable for underfloor heating as the ply makes the plank more stable. The cost is far lower as well ( around £70-80 per m2 plus vat )

In answer to your main question. On any width over 189mm We would never float the flooring.
First we would put a two coat DPM ( damp proof membrane)

We would then glue the floor to the DPM. The glue should be compatible with the DPM.

It doesn’t matter if the glue is 1 part or two parts, as long as it is compatible with the DPM and is a flexi glue so the wood can move ever so slightly on expansion.

Customers has purchased the flooring from Ted Todd so they arent cheap. going to DPM and stick with Sika.

Sika is a crackin glue mate, I used in my own flooring. Just my opinion, I would be considering using tongue tight screws as well as the glue. Expensive flooring so extra peace of mind isn't a bad thing :)
