laid a 10m by 4m lounge thru diner in the above approx 3 months ago
at the time of fitting told the shop id need to fit an incizo at the opening of the lounge diner approx 4.5m in as the manufacturer reccomend expansion after 8 running meters

anyway back today as the boards have cupped right at the point where the dining room meets lounge 2 boards in

the expansion is slighlty tight against the wall ie 2mm now at the end walls were the 2 areas meet

i can lift half the area trim these bits and relay or would it be better to put in incizo incase the same happens in future

first time in 15 years ive had this problem

    thanks in advance

purely from an aesthetic perspective i'd be tempted to trim existing boards & re-fit,,, that said to ensure NO FUTUE comebacks then the Incizo option is deffo worth considering - Chat it through with customer, see what they'd like as finished look & pro's 'n cons...

wowza!!! get yourself some 'mitre-kit' & use it instead of nails/brads,,, or 'no more nails' type adhesive & a few strategically weighted areas to hold it in place...

You say the boards have cupped?
Also you say there is still expansion left ?

I would point the finger at moisture. What is the subfloor made of?Do you have any moisture readings.

If you can get me the rooms RH, temp and the floors MC including the subfloors MC if wood or the RH if concrete i can tell you what is going on.

O.k, dont be fooled by acclimaticing. YES we need to acclimatice but if some thing else is wrong you could acclimatise for 12 months but it wont actually be correct. This is where we need to understand RH v TEMP v MC.

It defo sounds to me like moisture. Im going to take a guess that the floorboards (subfloor) has a high moisture content. Most possible cause of this is a issue with ventilation under the subfloor. Im guessing here but is a normal cause. Like i say i need moisture readings.

If you have pre install moisture readings and moisture readings now that would be even better. This could be caused by something that has happened since install. With the above info i should be able to help tell you why it has gone wrong, how you stand and how to fix the issue.

its open plan lounge / diner so have spoke to client and have agreed to put in an incio bar where the two area meet ie the arch way

what will the incio bar actually do to sort out cupping?

Manufacturer recommends one if over 8 meters, but that is for expansion. Not sure how it will sort out cupping, you say you still have 5mm expansion gap left also?

sorry for confusion its not actually cupping so to speak
2 rows of boards are bouncing up when you stand on them they go down giving the impression its tight
    yeah 5mm gap left

sounds to me one of either two probs, if there is still a expansion gap and floor is still bouncing then it could be the floor is uneven underneath causing the movement especialy as its where a old wall was? dont think damp would cause it to bounce as explained. if not large enuff expansion then that would proberly explain it. if you split it in archway this should solve it on both accounts.
