My fein saw has just started to go mental! The power was going up and down by itself for a while and now it keeps cutting out? The other day it would work if I held it straight but if I turned it slightly it cut out? Thinkit may be the power cord on the inside any1 any other ideas?

I always try ruff neck method to fix things first tap on the side still not working hit with rubber mallet still not working throw the bastard on the floor followed by having to go out for a fag to de stress at the thought of cutting arcs by hand, second thoughts best take it to someone who knows what there doing

Lol, that's how I've been getting it to work the last few weeks. Last week was tilting up and down and holding the cord up right. Sounded like a ****ing lumber jack was cutting out the arcs

The chances are the power cord will be partially broken just outside the casing which is why it's intermittent. It's because that's where the cord is bent and stretched the most causing the wires to wear and break. Usually just a case of cutting the cord a few inches beyond it and rewiring.

Brandon Tool Hire carryout power tool repairs - or at least my local depo does!

I've taken my multi-tools apart prev to have a browse inside, quite often if it's anything loose or any cables just about making contact then can usually be easily identified... happy fault finding

Just changed the brushes on mine, worth a look at them but sounds more like a faulty power cable as previously stated. They are hardy tools though, still got my first one I bought about ten years ago.
