Just finished three big jobs on a new estate, and the flooding is unbelievable as dug into higher ground with back of houses gardens soaking. Who is responsible for sorting this out as developers have washed their hands of it, surely there must be some standard for a "dry" and usable garden. NHBC are useless by the way
The amount of surveyors and so-called "experts" that I have had words with and they are all blinkered thinking because they have a few letters after their name but they don't have any common sense, never looking at the natural lye of the land and the make up of the soil
reason being they get the land at 'Happy shopper' prices... with NO consideration given for any consequences to the poor fekers who purchase their lovely new home that they've saved for for years only to discover they've been well & truly backdoor battered by the government & local authority... water table is 'a rising so beware all those low level livers, natures coming to get ya...
grading's always wrong on new builds these days and the quality of workmanship on the properties is atrocious.
Compare newbuilds to council houses built in the 40s/50s, the difference in quality stands out a mile. For Christ's sake, don't lean on that bannister, and don't hang pictures from internal walls.
