Had a quick play with one wen I was down at Amtico. Very swanky.
If I isn't already have the mms I'd have one of those in a heartbeat.

Thing I don't get, I had MMS and upgraded to Tramex but for the amount of money they charge for mms and they don't give a hard case just a "manbag"

Also the tramex gives a real reading in scan mode. However a European standard not a BS standard. But at least it does both.

Yes MC is very good in scan mode, does this new Protimeter do it?

I dont belive it does. Protimeters work on there own scale which has no reference.

Someone correct me if it does MC?

The instrument can now be used to takeactual %MC readings in wood and%WME readings in non-conductive
    solid materials other than wood

Being as I have only ever used Hygrometers i`m a bit lost.
Everything I have measured is in RH. And thats the scale I use for applying dpms etc
    What scale is wme ?
I have seen a guy read his mms and know how it relates to RH, but I don`t have a clue ?

    Wood moisture equivalant

Pins (resistivity/conductivity) up to 10mm deep
8-99% moisture content of dry wood/%WME (for other non conductive materials) - Relative readings over 30%

WME is wood moisture equivalent, it basically means that a reading of say 12% in wood is around equal in the lights on the front to 75% rh if testing concrete.

Basically a guess guide. The 'guess guide' is there so you can find the wettest area so you can set up a hygrometer. A hygrometer reads in RH and is the ONLY BRITISH STANDARD TEST.

MC is a European test that runs on a scale of 0-5% depending on whos meter you use. 2.5% being around 75% rh.

All the above tests tho are worthless as they are not British Standards. RH is what we use in the u.k, just like we you MPH as our speed reference.
