Cork border

Got to sand a floor which has a border line made of cork, cork needs replacing as it all broken down. Can the new cork be sanded or should it be put in after the sanding?

 

i've sanded it before, but be carfull when you do.. it's a bit on the soft side, Lol..

 

That's what I was thinking, don't wanna fit it all in there then muller it with the sander I'm hopeing I can put it in after and push it/cut it to the right hight ?

 

Maybe put it in just before the trio?
