Hi Lads, Fitted these jhs carpet tiles for a local contractor,2 days later this happened (see pic) what do you guys reckon? it has not been damp tested or any prep work straight to the slab! Damp?,Not climatised as gone from cold weather to warm Office? Any thoughts would be much apreciated
Expanded I'd say mate. Cold to warm. They all look tight now. Was it really cold when you fitted them?
yes laptop mate first time ive done it why? ive contacted the rep and he laughed at me and said they dont expand but thats what it seems like? The contractor is not to clued up on contract flooring work so hes relying on me to sort it!
The backing can. Happened to me years ago doing a police station. Fitted cold on tack adhesive and they all tightened the week after so had to go fix it. Just wondering on picture mate. I do mine through tapatalk but sometimes they are small ?
no mate they are rimini and yes laid broadloom they are bitumen backed i laid them stealth today very nice to fit i think
Looks like they have expanded all the same direction have you taken any up and measured to see if they are same size from north to south then east to west we laid some jhs Epsom carpet tiles and they expanded by 2 mm and tented up but only one way
Fitted some Gradus tiles last year. Had exactly the same thing happen. Gradus came round and checked them. They said they were faulty, and replaced them. Is there heating on in the building now ? Is the taki underneath the tiles still taki, or had is gone back to a liquid ?
looks like a heat change issue to me. Tell the rep that floorskills does courses for people that dont understand how products move with heat change.
