Well, another trip to a + even for slicing the side of my thumb and nail with a concave today. Need to invent a glove that's flexible and thin but protective. The chain mail gloves aren't practical, was even thinking about a motocross glove or summit?
Number one rule non cutting hand above cutting hand, its a bastard when you get a bad cut normally a really stupid mistake that can easily if been avoided like the time I used my dolphin holder to keep door open then put knife back down side of my leg stupid mistakes
Did you see the pic of it ontwitter? I bandaged it up with gaffa tape and put the chunk on top after I found it on the floor.
Nasty, my mate cut his finger in half last year. Nursie said it would grow back, because he don`t smoke. It has n`t though
Seem to remember hearing about crystals that are used to clot deep cuts quickly not sure were I heard it...or read it.. anyone know of them?
biggest lie told to me when i stared at 16? "Always keep your blade sharp, otherwise you will cut yourself using too much force with a blunt one" Dont think I've ever cut myself with a blunt blade, its always just as its been changed for a new one and it cuts too easily, lol
I don't know about carpets but with lvt all my near misses have been with blunt blades or if the blade snaps. I always use heavier gauge blades incase that happens.
You're half right there. The base material was developed ( no pun intended ) by Kodak as a hard plastic lens material for gunsight scopes and other things during WW2 for which it failed. They sat on it for years before someone noticed it it's qualites as a strong and instant adhesive and it was developed into a superglue . From there they developed a spray for wounds and it was first used in the Vietnam war. The glue reacts instantly with moisture found in skin which is why it's difficult not to get the stuff stuck to your fingers. There were a lot of side effects but it was preferable to bleeding to death.
They used a dressing had some sort of seaweed in it on mine. Only trouble is it sticks to the wound so it hurts like hell when changing it.
i've sprayed and taped myself back together more times than i remember tips of fingers etc... and hardly a scar although i've lost the feeling in most of the tips now
took the side of finger off cutting a carpet tile, just catching the fleshy bit took ages to heal, I always used to work with the straight blade sticking right out .....not any more ....still makes me wince
I've only had one goodie when I was exhausted and the knife slipped and I put the blade through my left thumb nail
