Who's product is the best Gerflor or Tarkett? I've got a 600m2 job i'm pricing for.Altro sports floor down but it keeps failing on the welds whoever fitted it used a tacky adhesive as recomended .This has caused the seams to pucker & the welds to fail.
    Any ideas.
    Cheers

I believe altros recommended adhesive for sports flooring is altro fix 19. 2 part Adhesive shouldn't be tacky. Further investigation required. Gerflor and Tarkett both good to fit. Good luck

Hi mate no offence but are you sure it's tobdo with the adhesive unless I am reading post wrong but I know many of floor layers who think they can lay sports floor but mess the welding up it is different to most floor coverings and needs a different method of welding and grooving out

The floor was laid 5 years ago by another contractor & it is mint apart from some joints which have peaked & opened. In the fitness room it failed by a rowing machine it gathered & forced the seam open.It is as if the adhesive doesn't have the strength to hold the flooring when under stress allowing it to expand IMO.

is it the movement from the rowing machine.I find that if you run a piece of chalk down the join it takes better.but it depends on the amount of friction, considering the rowing machine..

Chalk shouldn't make it take any better as when its grooved out its the internal of the sheet your welding to so should be 100% perfect to weld to already I was always on the understanding the chaulk down the join is to stop the join going shiny when welded
