As previously mentioned, after a horrible experience where my compressor broke down during a night job I thought I'd get a spare of the essential tools. Good plan to have spare essential tools for the night shift or any time for that matter. My back up mixer is my sds drill for which I have a jacobs chuck.

Floor screeds generally aren't the hardest to mix anyway. The pro mixers are designed to mix much heavier stuff like plaster and tile cement so a back up doesn't need to be top spec. I like my drill cos I can make holes with it too.
I used an Argos value drill for 2 years until it burnt the motor out when I was trained it was always drill with paddle I have since got a berg mixer a couple of years ago which is much better. I also remember having to mix by hand with a stick
