Quoted for an older client last week, who knew they wanted a carpet, just not what type/colour/quality:rolleyes:
After an hour of getting all the normal stuff out, they decided they'd quite like a red patterned one!! eventually decided on AW Solo roasted red, ordered today to find out they've done a revamp, that colour not carried over, and no stock.
Rep dropped off the new book this afternoon, still a red in there but different shade, and quality has dropped. Trip back on Friday for more hassle with the customer, WHY do manufactures have to make life so difficult. If they just released new books with the same stuff every couple of years I'm sure they'd get the same sales as revamping all the time, its a pain in the neck.

Thought so, when you said group transfer, I'll ring the Bailey rep direct though, rather than the office staff.

    Thanks for your help Mario,
Couldn't get hold of rep first thing so rang Baileys, "Not heard of Cliffords"
Googled it and rang them, known as MCD Culbrook? in group. Got hold of Baileys rep,"not sure we can get that as no transfer between stores, I'll see what I can do"
Had a phone call from him this afternoon to say it was sorted.
Rang the customer to say all was good and I now no longer need to see him Friday.
    Him; "No good now"
    Me; "sorry?"
Him, "spoken to the wife(she's in hospital this week) she wants something else" !!!
Me, "sorry if Ive not explained myself, I've found your original choice)
    Him "No"
Me" No, you don't want me anymore?"
    Him , "You're coming Friday"
Me "Ok, thats fine, what type of carpet would you like instead?"
Him "well you bring A sample don't you?"
Me, "yes, but we had trouble finding something you liked when I came b4 so was just trying to get some idea of what else to bring"
Him, "its up to the wife"
Me, "I'll see you on Friday"
Sometimes you just know you're wasting your time!!!!

i'd walk away, had a similar one the other day 3 rooms in westex full prep with combifelt gave them a rough price of £2500 all in before going to measure "yeah great happy with the price" go around to check measure comes out £2140 thought they'd be well pleased so give them the price then they ask for a discount. I said no and walked out the door, got in my car before i could set off he was ripping my door open with £2140 in hand, if the daft sod hadn't of asked i'd have done it for £2000:D hate the cheek of some people, that's my price if you don't like it many others will.

SOOOOO... went back today, and the customer who DEFINATELY only wanted a red carpet with a pattern for 2 interconnecting rooms, changed to having a door fitted between the 2 rooms, and went for Graceland saxony in 2 different shades of brown. Hey-ho, Senility setting in, whether for me or the client is open to debate though. At least I still have the order.
