How do you glue yours. Spray , f60 / f61 or another way? What do you use to put the adhesive on the wall and cove and capping ? I sometimes spray the cove former for speed. But if I'm using capping I always f60 it on. I make a spreader out of the sheet vinyl that I'm using. Seen that some people use a brush. If you use a brush do you go through loads of them or re use them?
I spray the whole job with gold. Then use f60 on capping strip and external also use a brush which I reuse I have two tins one tin I keep half full with brush in and just top up from second tin when first tin gets low. I use brush for wall and capping strip.
I use grabfast gold for the lot cap and cove unless its sticking onto ceramics then I use f61 I don't like f60 as I don't see the point in it, normally a 2inch brush for f61 I don't have a tin for brushes the ones I use cost £1.19 for 3 brushes so just bin then after use, as for spatulas I use the plastic ones that come with tin until it wears down the make one out of vinyl tile
Ive used f60, 61, gold, and uzin solvent free. Always come back to F61 as its got the best grab out of all of them. Normally use a brush once the teeth on the spreader are gone, get a pack of 5 for a quid at the boot sale.
Yeah the heads fall off after a while they don't last forever but I'm a tight git so like to get my money's worth out of em.
F60 all the way for me I use a 1 inch brush on the cap and cove and old off cuts of amtico for spreaders for the sheet and walls ( balls spreaders are good but they never last the life of the tin) I have an old f60 tin in the back of the van with about 3" of glue in it when your done with the brush chuck it in the tin and it lasts for quite a while. Use brushes with Woden handles as plastic handles will melt with the fumes in the tin. While on the subject of amtico off cuts they are also excellent for cleaning dried latex off skirtings. Spray a bit of flash etc on latex and let it soak for a couple of minutes and scrape it with the amtico it's tough enough to get the latex off but soft enough not to scratch the skirting.
Currently i stick capping with F60 (applied with a brush), cove former with contact spray (i've tried carpet spray but didn't find it stuck very well), prime the cove formwe and wall with carpet spray then Jantac for the vinyl. I've never used F61, what's the advantage of using it over F60? Is it cheaper?
I like F61 on caps, wall & sheet with a quick blast of heat to make it go off quicker! It's only downside is it doesn't have the buzz feeling associated with F60:thumbs On the coves I just use a cheap contact spray if Im prepping and fitting on the same day, or F61 if I'm prepping a few areas then coming back to lay the sheet
Dont think there's ever been a problem with any of them that in aware.... Besides the jantac holds it all together I hope!
