    Hi,

I'm laying 300 oil tempered 6mm hardboard sheets on to a 38mm chipboard floor and I am looking to speed up the process, rather than manually nail it down.

I've been advised to use 30 mm staples with this Stanley Bostitch SX1838-E Air Staple Gun http://www.tooled-up.com/manproduct/stanley-bostitch-sx1838-e-air-staple-gun-15-38mm-capacity/166995/

Would this be the right tool for the job? and will these be suitable fixings?

Thanks in advance. Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum.

It's a warehouse floor so there is no floor covering to be laid.

Myself I wouldn't use staples on hardboard. It's too weak and after time and people walking on the hardboard it might lift.
Happened to me a few times on jobs years ago using the spotnailer. Had To go back an lift tiles an nail the hardboard down.

Thanks daz. Did you use a nail gun to refix the hardboard? What type of nail did you use?

Ring nails by hand. It was over ten years ago.
I only use ply now. But if using hard board again I would use my coil nailer.

And Pre-soak hardboard before fitting, saves it popping.
