Hi mate, Don't know that make but go and have a look and make sure the driveboard is good and check that the brushes and board fit nicely and not to loose
You really need a slow speed one 145 to 180 rpm and the weight is also important to light and it will not apply enough pressure to actually do what u want it to do
Why slow speed?everyone I know that's had a slow speed one has had the motor burn out on them as it struggles to spin with a copper disc on it. I've got the victor 450 high speed and had no problems.
The copper discs and silicon carbide discs are not designed to run at hi speed they will clog up and over heat the reason a machine burns out is the motor not being up to the job using a polisher/ buffer for floor grinding sanding is out side its intended design. A rotary grinding/sanding machine designed for the job all run at slow speed
Think it depend`s on what you want it to do really. Just dusting off latex, no problem, any machine will do, any weight, unless you put your latex on with a knife and fork. If you going to demand more, copper disc stuff, etc, it might not be man enough. I see them on evil bay for £50 all the time. If you do any school work, a word in the caretaker`s ear, might lead to a old buffer for a few quid less.....
I didn't know that but like I said never had probs with mine clogging I don't use the screens tho I use a worn copper disc for rubbing down snots in screed and a new copper disc for removing old addy I don't use it for sanding either.
Ive got a victor 400 or summit and it's ample for your standard floor fitters needs, general making good etc. Simmos right though, dont try to rub down 700, youll be there all day!
PS. Mike, if you've had zero experience with buffers, can you please post a video of the first time you switch it on... Mind the skirting boards!
