Amtico flooring tiles design

I'm considering specifying professionally laid Amtico and would like to understand a little about the material before approaching a fitter.

I'd like to specify a wood design herringbone layout.

From the catelogue:

Herringbone AR0D3000 - size 76x229

I've look through this and other Amtico catalogues but can't find a tile of this size.

1) Would I be correct in assuming that a standard tile is just cut in half?

2) How does the floor fitter ensures that all the tiles are the same size?

Is the reference 'AR0D3000' simply an internal Amtico pattern reference number?

Your help and guidance will be much appreciated.

1) no, herringbone is not a standard tile cut in half.

2) the tiles should be the same size but the fitter will soon pick up if a tile is slightly off as his design will go out of goose.

3) the amtico brochure will give you the correct details. For your reference, Karndeans herringbone is good as well.

 

This is a temporary repair ( yes going to ripped up in about 6 weeks) to the water damaged oak blocks last night at Westfield Shopping stratford, used Oak Kardene herringbone on 18mm ply , looks good

Would I be correct in assuming the process being something like this?

The fitter tells Amtico which pattern number, tile reference, suare metreage he intends requires.

Amtico then uses this information and provides tiles manufactured to this size ie bevelled on each four sides.

Normally what happens is the contractor measures the area , you the client picks from the Amtico or Kardene ranges that are available In herringbone , the contractor will then allow waste and price, you give him the order and he orders to the box from Amtico/ Karndean
Then he will install as previous discussed with you, ie if you require one strip or two strip border or maybe no border

Thank you for your recent query.

The sizes given in the back of our brochure only relate to our standard plank sizes. The sizes that the Herringbone pattern is available in is shown on page 84 of our brochure. So if you choose to order White Oak in this design, you will be provided with the product cut into the size you have chosen (either 76 x 229mm or 114 x 457mm).
