Some steps I did in Knight Tile as a part of a large living room. The treads and risers I clad in 9mm ply and sanded to corners to a radius which I heated the vinyl round onto the PS adhesive. The nosing is a plastic one from a certain diy shed and it matched spot on.

The time was in the prep of the ply. The raised section went round three walls. The awkward part was getting an even curve at the corners. External was a case of trimming and sanding the ply. For internals I shaped a piece of flooring to the curve and used it to shape some feather finish. Once that was right the flooring only took about an hour to fit on the steps.
