Hi people. First off im new so Hey!

My question is what blade are you guys using? On the straight and hooked blades i have tried stickatack, janser, stanley, a company begining with D? i forget the name, and the stuff from RWS supplies. I find them all pretty poor quaility after a few cuts. The best ones i've used so far are the Wolff blades, but damn there expensive.

What do you good people recommend ?

Been using blades from these guys for 6-7 years. Quality is okay but price is good.

With straight blades do you sharpen them or just change them when blunt ?
All my fitters tend to use normal duty and sharpen after every couple of cuts with a diamond sharpener , but that's the way we train the guys so most do it, some use heavy duty but you can't seem to sharpen as well.
Just wonderd if others are taught to do it? Subbie's that I have employed tend to throw them away and some use concave blades , personal choice I suppose .
Saves you a lot of money if you do sharpen.

Must admit. Never really considered sharpening them. But I sharpen my kitchen knifes with a diamond sharpener every time I use them. Maybe that's the way forward?

I just use STS blades. Not sure who makes them but they come packaged as STS. Work well and cost is low.

when I started blades were comparatively much more expensive, so was taught to sharpen, guy I worked with took pride in making 1 blade last a week.
Now I just use c&f heavy duty, tend to use about 10 a day, (45 pence worth) can't see the point in sharpening old ones really.

I use floorit blades come in red box and are german I believe, £30 per hundred but best blades I've ever used, concave and hooks, use my dead carpet blades for altro, why use new blades on a product that blunts them with the first cut?
