A regular landlord customer of mine is getting me to install carpet in a subdivided property he is just refurbing. He's had building control in and they've told him he needs to install an accoustic underlay he told them he is installing carpet not a hard floor. But still needs to be an accoustic I know all underlays have an accoustic value dose anyone know the value you need to hit the best I've found so far is treadaire which offers a 46db noise reduction. Is ther a better product out there.
I think carpet is classed as a non-permanent fixture, and any buildings need to meet building regs b4 carpet is installed.
Building inspector is probably talking about a product similar to Acoustilay by Exton which comes in 3 types fitted prior to carpet installation fully adhered. Very expensive!
